We had an amazing New Year’s Eve at The Bell Inn in Horndon! From the moment we arrived, the warm, welcoming atmosphere of this traditional country pub set the tone for a fantastic evening. With its crackling open fires, charming historic feel, and friendly staff, it was the perfect place to celebrate.
The food was absolutely delicious, with a well-thought-out menu showcasing high-quality ingredients and expert cooking. The service was attentive and friendly, making the night even more special. The entertainment was brilliant, creating a lively yet relaxed atmosphere – the perfect balance for a New Year’s celebration.
But The Bell Inn isn’t just great for special occasions – their legendary Sunday lunches and themed events are hugely popular too, and for good reason! Whether you’re stopping by for a casual meal or a big celebration, this place always delivers on great food, great service, and a truly authentic pub experience.
Highly recommend – we’ll definitely be back!

Update Jan 2025. Gary went above and beyond for me to treat 2 special people to a great night and meal.
For me this is the perfect pub, restaurant and place to stay, have stayed 3 times in the past and visited restaurant regularly over many years
Consistently outstanding on every level, food is the highest standard and always modestly priced. Recently, we had our company Christmas meal there which was on a busy Friday evening and they once again delivered amazingly intricate tasty dishes as the photos hopefully show.

I can't comment on the rooms as we only ate here. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The chef adapted the ingredients in one of our starters to accommodate one of party. I will definitely be going back.

The food was absolutely out of this world, the service was somewhat lacking and inattentive. I had a black pudding starter with the pigeon as the main and wowsers the food was ON POINT! I feel bad as the front of house wasn't on par and here are my following reasons.
Cutlery being cleaned at circa 930 ment that we didn't get served correctly and although we wanted pudding it took a whole for our mains to be cleared from the table. Drinks went empty for over 10 minutes without anyone asking for a refill . And the inexperience showed in the type of front of house waiting which we received.
If you like great food come here but the service doesn't match the price tag .

My wife and l visited lunchtime 15th November, as guests with the ' Containers 4 sale UK ' group. Clearly, an excellent and varied menu. Good service, cracking food and highly recommended 👌
